GearMo USB to Serial adapter works but has the wrong type of fasteners on its plugs...

GearMo USB to Serial adapter works but has the wrong type of fasteners on its plugs...
This GearMo USB to Serial adapter seems to work fine even without drivers under Windows v8.1 but it has the wrong type of fasteners on its two serial port plugs (and they are different that the three other USB to serial adapters that I've used in the past). It has the correct male DB-9 connector, but the plug also has MALE fasteners when it needs FEMALE sockets so that you can securely attach the GearMo to the DB-9 plug that is on the serial device/cable itself. You can take the time to remove the male-threaded studs on the GearMo plugs but you are left with a hole in the soft plastic body of the plug that has no metal threads and thus still no way to make a 100% secure connection between the GearMo and the serial device itself. So, you just have to rely on the plug fitting snuggly, there is no secure way to attach the two plugs together. If GearMo wanted to offer this type of fastener then they should have included a set of female fasteners that could be used to replace the male studs.Seems like a very silly decision or oversight by the manufacturer. See the attached photo to understand the problem, you've got a male fastener on both sides of the connection.
